In this digital world, we expect alternative options everywhere. But when it comes to the website analytics Google Analytics is usually the primary tool. And why not? It’s free and comprehensive after all.
Most importantly, what’s the other free and equally comprehensive data analysis tool out there?
I didn’t think there was one, until recently…
(and no, this is not a sponsored post, but maybe it should be :D)
The European team I was working with had shifted from Google Analytics to this other tool. At first, I assumed it was a paid choice because the UI and visual display were much better.

The tech team I was working with told me that this tool gave more accurate data than Google Analytics. And it was free. Yay!
So if you are,
1) looking out for a G Analytics alternative, or
2) you want to experiment with a new tool anyway,
take a look @ Amplitude.
The free plan includes,
- All core analytics reports
- Unlimited data history
- Unlimited user seats
- 10 million user actions per month
Here’s their Quick Start Guide where you can know more.
And, it has a special pricing plan for startups!
Data crunching often becomes onerous, so a better UI and display adds a lot of value. Plus, once the charts are setup, the better display makes it easier for non-analytical team members to track them.
The logical query setting in Amplitude is something to be learned. For native Google Analytics users, it might not come very naturally. But it is quite user-friendly.
Note: we had Google Analytics installed too. So there were times when I delved into G Analytics to figure out some stuff.
In today’s digital age, some amazing tools are available for free. I was very happy to find out about Amplitude.
I have a fair bit of experience using Amplitude. If you have any Qs about my experience with it, please comment below.
